The Odisha government today decided to impart employment linked skill development training to 11 lakh youths within a period of five years, an official release said.
The decision was taken at a high level meeting presided over by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here.
“The scheme will be implemented through Mukhyamantri Nijukti Srusti Yojana,” the release said.
Under the new scheme, a target has been set to provide skill development training to 11 lakh men and women both from the rural and urban areas in five years.
“Priority will be given to men and women from rural areas,” it said.
The scheme would be monitored and supervised by the Employment Training and Technical Education (ET&TE) department while the Chief Minister would review the scheme every two months and Chief Secretary would review progress of the scheme every month, the release added.
