One of the key aims of the PMKVY scheme is to promote self-employment and entrepreneurship amongst the youth in India. To facilitate the same, the government, via the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises is extending Mudra Loans to successfully certified PMKVY candidates who are willing to opt for self-employment.
The training providers and training centers under PMKVY have been communicated to upload the details of those candidates who want to set up their own business, for the job role which will enable them self-employment opportunities. The details have to be uploaded on the Udyami Mitra Portal (https://udyamimitra.in/). Banks disbursing the loans will be directed by D/o Financial Services to consider all these applications on the Udyami Mitra portal favourably and on priority to ensure that their cases are decided upon in a time bound manner. NSDC is also working on a mechanism through which training centres and NSDC can act as mentors for those candidates who are funded by the banks for next 1-2 years so that the self-employment gets converted into a sustainable livelihood.
Additionally, the training providers have been advised to complete first phase of uploads by November 30, 2017.
